“Art Piece” came from a real situation involving a girl I was getting close with during a talking stage. At first, everything between us was going smooth, but things started to fall apart after outside opinions and rumors got involved. One of her friends began digging into my past and bringing up old situations, trying to decide whether I was “good enough” for her or not.
Eventually, she confronted me over an ex from over a year before. Since that past relationship ended badly and still frustrated me at the time, the conversation quickly turned into an argument. Emotions got high, words were said, and in the end she decided she couldn’t continue things with me anymore. “Art Piece” reflects the confusion, frustration, and emotions that came from watching something that felt genuine fall apart because of miscommunication and outside influence.
